Boone’s Introduction

Nov 17, 2025 | What’s Going On Around The Ranch

This past week we shared a very special update with our Facebook friends involving one of the twins previously mentioned in our weekly newsletter from October. We have a sweet little bottle calf named Boone and he is getting bigger every day! Cows are only supposed to birth and raise one calf, but we were blessed with two from one cow. However, most mommas cannot support twins, so we made the decision to pull Boon away to give him a better chance at life. It is not our first or favorite course of action because we cannot completely replace the mother but the likelihood of him living to adulthood was slim if we did not. This is one of the hard truths in farming and ranching that not many people see. We dedicate ourselves to the well-being and care of every animal, from the day they are born. For a bottle calf, like Boon, this relationship is even closer as we become his caretaker, nurse, and family substitute. It builds a bond that is unique and deep. But we also operate with a clear sense of stewardship and purpose. We raise our cattle with the greatest respect, ensuring they have a safe, healthy, and natural life, because they are ultimately providing high-quality nourishment for our community. This balances the deep care we provide every day and the reality of their purpose—is the foundation of our operation.

Right now, Boon is just focused on growing up big and strong! We’re excited to continue sharing his journey and using him to show exactly how much care goes into
